Saving lives - Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

someday just became today

It was December 7, 2011 when we got the call Dave had cancer

That night he ended up in emergency getting four pints of blood, finding he had eight compression fractures in his back and ten ribs fractured, all from cancer. It was just the beginning of a long journey we are still on today. The next few weeks were a whirlwind of whispering voices, sad looks, and crying. Yet through this tumultuous time I knew Dave was recovering. I wasn't even shaken in this when I was told his bone marrow was 90% cancer.. I just knew he was doing better. The doctors, the medicines, the tests, the support are what kept us hopeful.
Dave's life was saved in the next few months, although not without repercussions.
